Training

The current regulations of M.A.C.I. stipulate that individuals seeking to fly unaccompanied must possess an A Certificate. In line with this requirement, the club has established the following training protocol to expedite the qualification process for new members.

Upon initiation, each trainee is expected to procure the training log, which contains the prescribed A Certificate maneuvers. Throughout the training regimen, trainees will execute these maneuvers under the guidance of their instructor. At the conclusion of each training day or session, the instructor will assess the trainee’s performance and annotate their scores to maintain a comprehensive record of their progress, facilitating ongoing monitoring.

Scores will be graded on a scale from 1 (poor) to 5 (excellent). Trainees consistently achieving scores of 4 and above will be obligated to undertake the A Certificate examination. The scoring system serves to identify areas of strength and weakness for each trainee, thereby facilitating targeted improvement.

Each training log allows for documentation of up to 10 sessions. Trainees will be required to undertake the A Certificate examination upon completion of two training cards, or at the discretion of the training officer.

Trainees are responsible for retaining and presenting their training log at each session for record-keeping purposes.
